At times it may be hard to know if you are suffering from colon cancer signs , or other digestive disorders. There are diseases such as Crohn’s disease, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), diverticulitis, ulcerative colitis, and peptic ulcers, that have similar signs of colon cancer. Some of these colon cancer signs are blood in the stools, thin stools, constipation or diarrhoea, sudden weight loss, abdominal pain and cramping, anaemia, and bloating. Colon cancer signs are something that may not show up for years, which is why you need to do your part by getting regular screening, for faecal blood as well as the very important colonoscopy. The symptoms can vary depending on where the tumour is growing. If the tumour is in the right side of the colon, the colon can become quite large, which are, they tend to bleed, which can cause anaemia. Another symptom is diarrhoea or severe constipation, thin stools, pain and bloating. These colon cancer signs may be caused by an obstruction in the bowel. If there is bright blood, there may be a tumour in the rectum. If you have any of these colon cancer signs, it is very important that you go see a doctor and be screened. You do not need to assume just because you have these signs, that you have cancer. You may have some digestive disorders that need to be treated, and if this is treated, then you will be under the watchful eye of your doctor to always be on the look out for symptoms of cancer. Simple constipation may be caused by not drinking enough water, and if you are eating foods like red licorice, or even watermelon, these can give the same signs as blood in the stool. There are some iron supplements that can give your stool the look of old blood, making them look black.
There are a list of colon cancer signs that you should always be on the lookout for: Change in bowel habits Blood, either bright red or dried, in the stool Thin stools Unexplained weight loss Stomach cramping or pain, along with bloating Severe fatigue for no reasonable Feel the need for a bowel movement that won’t go away Continuous nausea with vomiting Anaemia Abdominal pain or tenderness Please, if you have any of these colon cancer signs,
don’t take a chance with your life, be checked and rule out any other causes.
