Colors send different messages. Unconsciously, we have been trained to respond in a variety of color forms of almost all of the rainbow. For example, green is almost always associated with "go" (green light), the arrival of spring and the freshness and confidence. Orange, according to psychologists color, denotes energy and enthusiasm. This is probably why the champions of the cause decided to use colorful ribbons in supporting their beliefs.

Already in 1917, singer / songwriter George Norton wrote the song, "" Around his neck he wore a yellow ribbon. "A revised version more was later used in the movie "She Wore A Yellow Ribbon." The words tell the story of a young woman awaiting the return of his love that he served in the army. In 1979, yellow ribbons that saw the resurgence Penne Laingen tied this symbol around her tree when her husband, U.S. diplomat Bruce Laing, was held captive during the hostage crisis in Iran.

But yellow is not the only symbol of hope. What is the first thought that comes to mind when you see a ribbon of pink? Breast cancer. In 1992, in the hands of Self magazine editor Alexandra Penney and cosmetic giant Estee Lauder, the symbol of the tape was adopted as the icon of the National Breast Cancer Awareness Month campaign. The color pink was chosen and the new emblem was quickly adopted by the American public.

There are others too … many others. Red was chosen as the ribbon color for awareness of AIDS many people actually purchase and cut pieces of tape to fix on their lapels, others have opted for a more convenient method. While cloth tapes wear out quickly, purchasing custom ribbon lapel pins gives him a permanent part of the jewelry to use several times. Whatever you choose, with awareness ribbons show support for causes immensely worthwhile.
