Intestinal obstruction from colon cancer
My father had surgery for colon cancer nearly four years ago. A few months ago he had problems with your stomach / toilet. The first X-ray showed some kind of obstruction. The second radiograph one week later showed nothing. Last week had a similar problem, but not so bad. He also had hernia surgery in the stomach. Blockages are common after resection of colon or hernia surgery? Not find a lock means the cancer has returned or can be due to surgery? Thanks for the info.
Anytime you have surgery gastric their risk of developing adhesions. Sometimes these go away, or a breakdown in his mind, but sometimes do not. These adhesions can bind to the intestines, twisting bowel and, in general havoc. Some people are very prone to develop adhesions and Unfortunetly can enter a cycle of operations to remove them, followed by more adhesions .. I understand that cancer of the story is a big concern. However, as you said that the blockade was there last time and the second radiograph that seems less likely that a review of its cancer. This sounds more like part of the intestine is twisted or moved and the material was trapped there. At the hospital stomach trying to unzip these people. It means nothing by mouth, nasogastric tube to rest things and see if the covered area will open. Now ….. I can not emphasize this enough. From yoru father has a history of colon cancer. Anything with their intestines are not wrong, or simply working correctly should be evaluated by a Dr. bowel obstructions are different from constipation and can be easily killed. I would also be asking for something more than a run of the mill abdominal series. Plain radiographs really just do not say too terrible much. Get a really good oncologist can do with it.
